When I say that faith is a portal, I mean that faith gives you access to the vision God gave you as well as a life of peace (completeness, wholeness).
Here are several points about faith:
But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” (Galatians 3:11 NKJV)
Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:4 NKJV)
Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” (Hebrews 10:38 NKJV)
What is faith and what would it look like for someone to live by it?
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 NKJV)
The Greek word for faith is pistis and it means to be persuaded, come to trust, faith; it is always a gift from God and is never something that can be produced by people; God’s divine persuasion and therefore is different than human belief (confidence), yet involves it. Faith is the warranty that the revelation He placed inside of you will come to pass.
Romans 10:17 tells us that faith is by hearing (discerning the voice of God) and that hearing or discerning the voice of God is by His word. By utilizing the definition of the Greek word pistis, we see that faith, which is given to you by God, is a persuasion/warranty that the revelation He placed inside of you will come to pass. However, you have to know the revelation before you can be persuaded. You must be sensitive to the voice of God and able to discern and differentiate His voice from your own, others, or Satan.
How you are able to differentiate is also explained in Romans 10:17. It says that hearing comes by the word of God, meaning you learn to discern His voice by reading His word. Not only will this help you gain a closer relationship with Him (John 1:1-4), but it will also help you to recognize a thought, feeling, or instruction that is contrary to God. God will not fight against himself (Luke 11:15-22; Mark 3:22-27; Matthew 12:24-30); therefore, if you are about to do something and it is driven by an emotion that’s contrary to God (such as fear), you should reevaluate the decision because God would not have you to act out of fear (Romans 8:15; 2 Timothy 1:7).
It is also important to seek God’s plan for your life in order for you to have a view of what is inside of you.
Joseph was 17 years old when God gave him a dream revealing who he was (Genesis 37:5-11). His understanding of who he was in God as well as his purpose helped him to have faith in circumstances that seemed to be completely opposite to what God had showed him (Genesis 37:12-36; Genesis 39; Genesis 40). You must utilize your faith to the same extent that Joseph did. God has shown you that you are a millionaire, business owner, recording artist, CEO, author or whatever plan he revealed for your life, and your faith will get you through the circumstances that are necessary to make it to that end.
Stand on your faith and don’t be swayed by what you see in front of you. God’s word will not return to you void.
