Through faith and patience we are able to access the promises of God.
As discussed in my prior posts, you are already given the faith necessary to perform God’s will (Romans 12:3; Jeremiah 1:5). As you live your life, trials and temptation help you build your patience and become accustomed to utilizing the faith that is already in you (James 1:2,3).
If you are never placed in a position which requires dependence on God, when a time comes that requires something you are unable to do in your own flesh, you will panic. Consider your trials and temptations training grounds, preparing you with the skills to use your faith and equipping you with the patience to endure until you reach the promised/desired end.
…that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12 NKJV)
